The Air Traffic Control is an advanced system that direct planes into their designated runway or to land and take off from runways that are properly lined off. There are three types of air traffic control which include ground controller, mid-air controller, and airborne traffic controller. The primary goal for a control room is the safe landing of aircraft on Runway Securing Lines (SSLS). The secondary goal is to ensure adequate air traffic control as needed for the safety of the public and of the aircraft themselves.

Growing air traffic due to the increasing number of air travelers is again contributing to market growth. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization, the total number of passengers carried on scheduled services rose to 4.3 billion in 2018, which is 6.4 percent higher than the previous year, while the number of departures reached 37.8 million in 2018, a 3.5 percent increase. Increasing investment in the aerospace industry coupled with the growing number of aircraft delivery is further anticipated to propel the market growth of air traffic control.

North America is expected to gain significant growth over the forecast period and this is attributed to the increasing number of partnerships among key manufacturers in the region. For instance, in October 2019, Raytheon Company has signed an agreement with WEY Technology (WEYTEC) to co-develop the next-generation air traffic control workstation called multi-platform ATC Re-hosting Solution, or MARS.
