Toyota to launch seven electric vehicles under its ‘Beyond Zero’ brand with bZ4X being the first.
The world’s biggest automaker Toyota recently announced about its future plans at the Shanghai auto show 2021. The company is all set to sell 70 different type of electric cars by the end of the year 2025, out of which 15 versions are expected to be fully electric cars. Toyota has unveiled their new Beyond Zero brand during the press days at the auto show in Shanghai. Their Beyond Zero brand concept includes the electric vehicle model bZ4X. The automaker hopes to start selling their bZ4X of electric model by the mid of 2022, while the production of the cars would be conducted in Japan and China. The company hasn’t mentioned the details about when the US version of the vehicle would be launched as of now.
Although there is not much details shared about Toyota’s bZ4X electric vehicle, it is known that the vehicle is being co-developed by Subaru. The electric vehicle is expected to feature all-wheel drive with Toyota’s new battery e-TNGA powertrain, a long-wheelbase frame and is also expected to have a compact SUV design. Toyota is also expected to include electrified versions of its pickup trucks in the coming future as well.
Many automakers presented their concept as well as their future plans in the latest Shanghai auto show 2021. The date of the auto show starts from April 21 to 28, while there were special allocated days for the press on April 19 & 20. The auto show is being held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) at Shanghai, China. The press days of the exhibition saw intelligent driving technology to be a theme at this auto show. Many top automakers and even startups from all around the world arrived at the Shanghai auto show to showcase their best car innovations which included top companies to even startups.
