Third-gen Hyundai i20 Gets New N Line Trim

In Europe, the N Line will be offered with a choice of two engine options; 1.2-liter petrol or 1.0-liter petrol.

Hyundai, a South Korean automotive manufacturer has revealed the third-gen i20 N Line, a new performance-inspired, range-topper variant. However, this is the first time the i20 has got an N line trim-level. In international markets, the N Line variant is expected to be introduced in 2021. The i20 N Line features several new styling elements inspired by the company’s N performance arm. The third-gen i20 N Line gets a new bumper and an N Line badge on the all-new black grille. On the rear, the i20 N Line gets a diffuser-style bumper, a chrome twin-exit exhaust, and triangular fog lights.

The i20 N Line will be available in four color options such as Polar White, Brass, Aurora Grey, and Phantom Black. The interior of the N Line is quite similar to the recently renewed i20, however, gains N badging, a bespoke steering wheel, sport front seats, N-branded gear knob, and metal pedals. In Europe, the N Line will be offered with a choice of two engine options; a three-cylinder, 1.2-liter petrol engine that delivers 84 hp of power or a three-cylinder, 1.0-liter petrol unit that delivers 100 hp or 120 hp of power.

Moreover, the hatchback features a suite of advanced driver assistance systems and the company’s BlueLink connectivity software. It will be equipped with Hyundai’s new Intelligent Manual Transmission (optional) and 48V mild-hybrid technology, for boosted efficiency. The company has not yet confirmed any plans to introduce the i20 N Line in India. However, Hyundai is expected to launch the third-gen i20 in India, this festive season. In India, the third-gen i20 will be available in three engine options; the 1.5-liter diesel, the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol, and the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol. Once launched in India, the i20 will compete against the Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Tata Altroz.
