Skoda claims that the Rapid Rider Plus offers fuel efficiency of 18.97 km per liter, under standard test conditions.
Skoda, a European automotive manufacturer has launched a new variant of the Rapid named the Rider Plus at US$ 10681.89 (ex-showroom, India). The all-new Rapid Rider Plus sits below the mid-spec Rapid Ambition and gets some new features. Moreover, the Rider Plus gets new trim and paint options. The Rider Plus is available in four color options such as Toffee Brown, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, and Candy White. Whereas the base Rider is available in two color options such as Carbon Steel and Candy White.
The Rider Plus is equipped with the new 1.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine that delivers 110 hp of power and is mated with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. According to the company, the new engine is also 23% more efficient than the previous one. The Rider Plus is equipped with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and Mirror-Link connectivity. The vehicle comes with standard features such as auto climate control, remote locking, tilt and telescopic adjust steering, rear AC vents, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and more.
However, some features such as cruise control, auto wipers, auto headlamps, projector headlamps, and alloy wheels are not available in the Rider Plus. Moreover, the Rider Plus costs US$ 668.25 more compared to the base Rider. Skoda claims that the Rapid Rider Plus offers fuel efficiency of 18.97 km per liter, under standard test conditions. The company has stopped booking Rapid Rider and is expected to resume in the next 3 months. Skoda is also planning to introduce a six-speed automatic transmission for the Rapid in the coming future. Moreover, the company plans to re-introduce its flagship SUV named the Kodiaq in the future.
