Bhavish Aggarwal CEO of OLA electric revealed the features and prices of the newly launched electric scooters during the launch event.
OLA electric releases its electric scooters in two variants – S1 and S1 pro on August 15, 2021. It is available in 10 vibrant colors with glossy and matte finishes. The S1 has a 2.98kWh battery that provides it a range of 121 km and a top speed of 90 kmph. In 3.6 seconds, the S1 accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph. It has two riding modes – normal mode and sports mode. S1 Pro has a 3.97 kWh battery with the help of an optional performance upgrade kit. S1 pro gives the range of 181 km and a top of 115 kmph. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3 seconds and has three riding modes Normal mode, Sports mode, and hyper mode.
The electric scooters come with a Battery Management System that monitors the battery for performance, range, safety, and durability. It does not have the physical key instead; it works with the paired phone, which acts as the digital key. It is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen monitor with multiple microphones for AI speech recognition. It works with Move OS- made by OLA electric. The Vehicle Control Unit is powered by an 8-core processor with 3 GB RAM, and it has Bluetooth, 4G, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The S1 Pro has a Hill-Hold function in addition to front and rear disc brakes. The electric scooter also has a Reverse Mode that is activated by twisting the throttle in the other direction.
The Ex-showroom price of S1 is set at Rs. 99,999 /- and S1 pro is priced at Rs.1,29,999 /- in India. The prices would be different in the different states due to the FAME II scheme and state subsidies. The OLA electric scooters will be made available to buy from September 2021 and the deliveries are likely to start from October 2021.
