Maruti Suzuki Expands its Car Leasing Service

Customers cannot return the car taken by them whenever they want as there is a lock-in period for every vehicle.

In July 2020, Maruti Suzuki introduced a car leasing service named Maruti Suzuki Subscribe in partnership with Orix, a Japanese financial services group as part of a pilot program. Initially, it was introduced in Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Gurugram (Haryana), India. Now, the company has expanded its leasing service to Hyderabad (Telangana) and Pune (Maharashtra), India. Maruti Suzuki Subscribe is now available in a total of four cities across the country. The new car leasing service is different from the company's previous leasing services. The Subscribe is for individual customers whereas the previous leasing services were for corporate customers.

The new service allows potential customers to choose from a wide range of vehicles from the company’s portfolio for leasing. However, the company has now partnered with Myles (India-based car sharing company) for the Hyderabad and Pune roll-outs. The Maruti Suzuki Subscribe available with flexible lease tenure options such as 48, 36, and 24 months. Moreover, the customers can extend their lease tenure just by sending a written request. This must be done before the end of the running term (before 30 days). The company will also provide 24x7 roadside assistance to the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe’s customers.

To avail this service, customers have to select the car, variant, and the tenure, as well as fill up the required forms. The vehicle will be delivered to the customer in 15 days after the application is approved. Moreover, post-sales operations such as insurance claims, service, and maintenance will be managed by the leasing partner. The lock-in period for 48-month tenure is 24 months, 36-month tenure is 18 months, and 24-month tenure is 12 months. However, the new service is not applicable for all Maruti Suzuki cars.  Customers can choose from the Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, Dzire, and Swift from the company’s the Arena network and the XL6, Ciaz, and Baleno from the Nexa dealer network.
