HP Launches New Gaming Monitor, Omen 25i

The new HP Omen 25i gaming display is now available, with starting at US $349

The HP Omen 25i stands out from the crowd because gaming monitors normally start at 27 inches. The Omen 25i’s smaller 25-inch screen results in a smaller overall footprint, making it a suitable choice for college students or anyone with a small desk. That also means this isn’t an exorbitantly priced display. The new Omen 25i is priced at US $349. Although this is $70 higher than the previous Omen 25, it is still a reasonable price for a gaming monitor. This is especially true considering the screen’s high end design. It features a diamond-shaped base and tiny bezels, similar to the Omen laptops and desktop. It also includes distinctive angled ports on the back for easy access. HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, two downstream USB-A ports, and a USB-B port are all included.

With a 1920 × 1080p resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, the Omen 25i ia a great choice. It also has an IPS panel instead of a VA panel, which allows for improved viewing angles and color coverage. According to HP, the display will cover 90% of the DCI-P3 color space. It is also HDR400 and 8-bit color certified. The HP Omen 25i supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and is G-Sync compatible in terms of anti-tearing technology. HP has also included some software features to set the Omen 25i apart from the competition. It also has a ‘dynamic crosshair’, which changes colors dependent on the game’s environment to guarantee that it’s always visible. With up to 248 form and color options, HP claims it is the most customized crosshair on the market.

The most intriguing new feature is named ‘Game Remaster Mode’ which improves low-resolution game’s visuals. HP did not provide any examples of visuals, but the concept is to use filters to augment or enhance the imagery of old games. With Shadow Vision and Edge Precision, HP has also altered the Aesthetics. The HP Omen 25i will be available in June this year.
