The expected price of the BS-VI compliant diesel Civic is US$ 27759.23 and US$ 30402.96 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Honda India is all set to launch the BS-VI compliant diesel variant of the Civic sedan in India, which is scheduled to be launched in July 2020. Moreover, on June 16, the company opened the pre-launch bookings for the diesel Civic. Now, customers can book the diesel sedan from the company’s authorized dealership or official websites, as well as through the company’s online sales platform. After the launch, the diesel variant of the Civic will compete with the Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra.
Now, the diesel Civic will join the BS-VI compliant petrol Civic, which was launched in India in March 2019 and costs between US$ 23714.31 and US$ 28089.69 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The tenth-gen Civic (currently on sale in India) is equipped with a 1.8-liter petrol engine that delivers 141 PS of power and 174 Nm of peak torque. When the tenth-gen Civic was launched in the Indian market, it was the first time the Indo-Civic got a diesel engine option. However, in April 2020, the company dropped a 1.6-liter diesel variant from India line-up because it was not equipped with a BS-VI compliant engine.
The BS-VI compliant diesel variant of the Civic will be equipped with the same four-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbo-diesel unit that churns out 120 hp of power and 300 Nm of peak torque. The diesel unit will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission system, it will not be paired with an automatic transmission system. The expected price of the diesel Civic is US$ 27759.23 and US$ 30402.96 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from the Civic, the company is also gearing up to launch the BS-VI compliant Jazz (petrol-only) and the WR-V facelift in the coming future. Moreover, Honda is now preparing for the launch of the all-new, fifth-generation City in India, which is scheduled to be launched in July 2020.
