In the University of George Washington some researcher compute levels of plasticizer chemicals in various types of fast-food products. They consume high amount of dangerous chemicals, such as phthalates, in almost all sample studied. Phthalates are a kind of chemical which is used to convert the plastics highly tough.
An evidence has indicated these chemicals can disrupt normal hormone functions and lead to health issues, including heart disease and reproductive issues over the years. A recent research indicates that up to 100,000 premature deaths occur in the United States of America each year could be attributed to phthalate visibility. People are exposed to phthalates by eating and drinking foods that have contacted products containing phthalates. Some exposure can occur from breathing phthalate particles in the air.
The study found that hamburgers, pizza, and Tex-Mex items were analyzed for the presence of eleven chemicals that various phthalates and more recent chemicals utilized to replace phthalates.
“They found phthalates and other plasticizers are widespread in prepared foods available at the U.S. fast food, many consumers are obtaining a side of potentially unhealthy chemicals in their food. These chemicals are still used in food packaging materials,” the researchers conclude in a reality sheet accompanying the study however some phthalates are banned from toys along with other services and products. “Stronger laws are needed to keep all phthalates and replacement plasticizers away from the foods.”
